This is a lightly spiced, creamy and a delicious punjabi rajma masala curry recipe. this is my mom's way of making this famous punjabi masala curry. rajma masala is a weekly affair at home and a sunday lunch. so i make rajma masala in three different ways. Rajma Rajma chawal is a favorite combo in many North Indian households. Rajma is comfort food at its best. I like rajma best with simple jeera (cumin) rice. You can have Rajma using 17 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Rajma

  1. It's 200 gm of rajma soaked for 8 hours.
  2. Prepare 4 of onion.
  3. It's 4 of tomato.
  4. You need 2 tablespoon of ginger,garlic and green chilli paste.
  5. Prepare 2 of tejpatta.
  6. You need 1 inch of dal chini.
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
  8. It's 4 tablespoon of butter.
  9. It's 1 bowl of curd.
  10. It's 1/2 cup of tarmind water.
  11. Prepare As needed of Coriander for garnishing.
  12. Prepare of Dry species.
  13. You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
  14. You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
  15. Prepare 1 tsp of coriander powder.
  16. It's To taste of Salt according.
  17. Prepare 1 tbsp of garam masala.

Of course, some roti would be great too. When I was in college, I ate rajma at least once a week. Rajma Masala is a very popular dish in the Northern states of India. The Punjabi way of cooking Rajma Masala is to soak it overnight in water, boil it using a pressure cooker and mix bhuna masala made with chopped onions, pureed tomato, ginger, garlic and milieu of fresh spices including cumin, coriander and chilli powder.

Rajma step by step

  1. First cook soaked rajma for 6 whistle.Take a pan heat a butter add cummin seeds,tejpatta,and dal.chinni add ginger garlic,green chilli pastecook for 2 minutes.now add onion paste.
  2. Now add dry species(coriander powder,turmeric powder and garam masala).stir the onion until.oil.comes out.then add tomato puree,add salt in it.keep lid for cook.
  3. When tomato cook properly.then add turmind water,cook for sometime now add curd. Again keep lid for 5 minutes..
  4. Now add boiled rajma which we cooked in pressure cooker.Rajma is ready to serve.garnish with coriander.
