Ingredients of Rajma
- You need 200 gm of Rajma seeds.
- You need 2 of medium size onion grated.
- Prepare 4 of tomatoes puree.
- You need 5-6 pods of garlic.
- Prepare 1 inch of ginger.
- You need 2 of black cardamom.
- It's 2-3 of cloves.
- You need 1 inch of cinnamon stick.
- It's 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- You need 1-2 of bay leaves.
- You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 1 tsp of garam masala powder.
- It's 2 tbsp of oil.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- It's 1 tbsp of Chopped coriander leaves for garnish.

The Punjabi way of cooking Rajma Masala is to soak it overnight in water, boil it using a pressure cooker and mix bhuna masala made with chopped onions, pureed tomato, ginger, garlic and milieu of fresh spices including cumin, coriander and chilli powder.
Rajma instructions
- Soak Rajma seeds overnight.
- Boil them a cooker along with black pepper and salt. Cook till done..
- In a vessel add oil and let it heat well. Add jeera, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, ginger garlic paste, turmeric and red chilli powder. Saute for few seconds..
- Add the grated onions and keep stirring on low flame till it turns golden brown in colour..
- Add tomato puree and cook well till oil leaves the masala..
- Add the boiled rajma along with the water. Add extra water if needed. Add salt, but only for the masala as rest salt was added while boiling rajma..
- Cook well on low flame for 15-20 minutes..
- Serve hot with rice. Garnish rajma with some coriander leaves..
