Ingredients of Rajma

  1. It's 2 bowls of rajma.
  2. It's 1 teaspoons of ginger garlic pasta.
  3. Prepare 2 of tez patta.
  4. It's 1 of small daal chini.
  5. It's 1 of moti elaichi.
  6. You need 1 of masala spoon haldi.
  7. It's 1 teaspoons of salt.
  8. Prepare 2 of masala spoon dhania powder.
  9. Prepare 1 of masala spoon zeera.
  10. You need 2 of medium onions (grated or finely chopped).
  11. Prepare 3 tbsp of tomato purée.
  12. Prepare to taste of Red chilli powder.

Of course, some roti would be great too. When I was in college, I ate rajma at least once a week. Rajma Masala is a very popular dish in the Northern states of India. The Punjabi way of cooking Rajma Masala is to soak it overnight in water, boil it using a pressure cooker and mix bhuna masala made with chopped onions, pureed tomato, ginger, garlic and milieu of fresh spices including cumin, coriander and chilli powder.

Rajma step by step

  1. Soak rajma overnight in excess water.
  2. Add ginger garlic, tez patta, dal chini, elaichi, haldi, salt, dhania powder and rajma to pressure cooker and mix.
  3. Add 6 bowls of water and put pressure cooker on full heat.
  4. After 2 whistles, put the pressure cooker on slow heat for 30 mins.
  5. Simultaneously, in some oil, add zeera to lightly brown.
  6. Mix in the onion until golden brown, then add tomato purée and cook until it is fully cooked (releases oil).
  7. Add the rajma to the masala and let it cook properly and to thickness desired.

Rajma dal is a red kidney bean curry that is a popular dish in northern India, though it's enjoyed throughout the country. It is a tasty vegetarian recipe that cooks the beans in a spicy masala paste featuring ginger, garlic, chilies, and tomatoes. Kasmiri rajma (Jammu rajma) - They look same as red rajma but the small in size. Since they are smaller in size they cook faster.
