- In a bowl soak rajma in enough water for 7-8 hours or overnight. In the cooker add rajma, water, salt and half teaspoon turmeric. Stir and cook on high for 5 whistles,the rajma is done, set aside..
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan on medium heat, add cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, chopped onion and saute for 4 minutes. then add turmeric powder,chill powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, salt cook for 2 minutes..
- Then add tomato puree and half cup water and cover the pan with a lid for 10 minutes in medium heat..
- After 10 minutes add garam masala powder, rajma masala.cook for 2 minutes and then add cooked rajma. Then add half a cup of water, cover the pan for 15 minutes in very low heat..
- After 15 minutes the curry will thicken.switch off the flame..
- Garnish it with ginger julienne and chopped green chillies and ring onion..
- Serve hot with rice or any bread..
